Fresh Basil Hummus

I eat a LOT of hummus. No surprise.

But sometimes I like to intensify the flavor with fresh herbs for a little extra zip, and this 2-ingredient recipe does the trick. It’s just a little hummus, plus the fresh herb of your choice.

I like a good shortcut now and then, so I start with prepared hummus. My favorite brand (Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine) has zero added fat. If you prefer, of course you can make your own from scratch.

This is really good with fresh vegetables, as a sandwich spread, over toast, on pizza dough…let your imagination be your guide.

FRESH BASIL HUMMUS

10 ounce package of oil-free hummus
3/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Place hummus and fresh basil in the bowl of a small food processor and process until well combined.

Serve chilled, along with fresh vegetables, pita bread, or crackers.
