Ready to make your mornings easier than ever? Homemade Muesli to the rescue.
The coolest part of this happy mixture is how truly delicious it is, but this is amazingly easy to customize, too. Start with rolled oats, then add your favorite dried fruits, a couple of unsweetened whole grain cereals, and a handful of toasted nuts.
Store your new treasure in a large jar or two, and refrigerate for the busy week ahead. It’s ready for action, and you will be too, because Muesli is packed with energy-producing nutrition, guaranteed to satisfy for hours on end.
Top with fresh fruit and a splash of nondairy milk. Breakfast is served!
HOMEMADE MUESLI
3 cups rolled oats
2 cups freeze-dried fruit (my favorite is a mixture of freeze-dried strawberries, mango, and blueberries)
1 cup unsweetened whole grain crisped brown rice cereal, or puffed brown rice cereal
1 cup unsweetened whole grain sprouted corn flakes cereal, or puffed corn cereal
1/2 cup organic raisins
1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts or almonds
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. That’s it! Store in a glass jar or two, and refrigerate to keep fresh.
To serve, top with fresh fruit (if desired) and a splash of nondairy milk.
