Air-Fried Fresh Pineapple

As Co-Director of Culinary Education for PBNSG, I teach (with my friend Michele) an Air Frying class that always sells out. I made a great discovery just in time for our most recent class a few weeks ago, when I thought of air-frying pineapple!

SOOO so good! It’s sort of like (but really better than) grilling pineapple outside. No flies, no outdoor mess, and no cross-contaminating flavors.

And my oh my oh my…it’s delectably tropical and sugary sweet! Hope you love it too.

AIR-FRIED FRESH PINEAPPLE

1 fresh pineapple
few sprinkles of pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

Carefully slice off both the crown and the bottom of the pineapple. Stand pineapple back up.

Following the natural curve of the pineapple, slice from top to bottom to remove the tough outer skin, rotating the pineapple and repeating until all of the skin has been removed.

Trim pineapple flesh away from the inner core. Slice pineapple chunks evenly, into 1/2-inch x 2-inch pieces. Toss the pineapple gently with a few sprinkles of Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Place pineapple in the basket of your Air Fryer, and follow instructions for your model. With a Philips Digital Avance, it takes around 14 minutes at 375 degrees.

Once pineapple is golden brown around the edges, carefully remove from air fryer, and enjoy.
