Surrounded by family and a kitchen filled with delicious flavors, Thanksgiving has long been at the top of my favorite holidays list. But it’s not without challenges.
If you host guests who aren’t vegan, like we do, you know that pleasing them can be a tricky mess. I’ve found over the years that delicious vegan food speaks for itself and helps create harmony. Once these dishes are served, it seems like everyone wants to try them.
So, here are a few of my favorites that are likely to make an appearance at our holiday table this year. Each recipe is plant-based, oil-free, and entirely delicious.
What’s NOT shown…I’m adding sweet potatoes this year to the mashed potato topping of the Shepherd’s Pie, and most certainly roasting butternut squash with onions.
Beverages? Probably hot mulled cider, along with wine and seltzer, coffee and teas. I love to prepare extra desserts for Thanksgiving, so I may also include a fruit crisp (like Cranberry, Apple, and Pear Slow Cooked Crumble) and something extra special with chocolate, like Chocolate Brandy Truffles, but the menu you’ll find below will surely be our core.
Hope your Thanksgiving holiday is surrounded by all of your loved ones, and truly happy, healthy, and delicious! : )
